Please
note that our Christmas in July Sidewalk Sale scheduled for

PAWS’
Super
Adoption Day
This annual
event was held at Petco in Monroe on Saturday, April
25.
River Cities had
an information
table and brought kitties for adoption. We
adopted out Amy, a cute really laid-back kitten,
and Bonnie, a
beautiful and sweet young adult, to their forever homes.
Many
thanks to PAWS for inviting us to participate in this event and for
their
hospitality and to Petco for all their assistance!
Petsmart
Be-Kind-to Animals Week Adoption Weekend
River
Cities participated in this event on Sunday, May 3, and
adopted out Ace, a 22-pound sweetheart! Thanks
to Petsmart for inviting us and to
all their employees for their interest and help!
THANKS,
TOO, TO ALL THE RIVER CITIES VOLUNTEERS WHO WORKED THESE
ADOPTION EVENTS!
UPCOMING
EVENTS
We have several great
events scheduled!!
Please see our
Upcoming Events page for all
the details.
SPECIAL
THANKS TO…
Angie
O’Pry
Blades of Fiesta Nutrition Center, 2225 Louisville Ave., Monroe (just
down from
the Piccadilly) for allowing us to hold a fundraiser in front of her
store.
We sold dog and
cat Easter
baskets (a big hit; we’ll have them again next year) and
River Cities tote bags
and t-shirts.
Please stop by
Fiesta and
browse their wonderful selection of organic foods, vitamins, natural
remedies,
and so much more. Thank you, Angie, for all your support!

River
Cities is now selling
world-famous Rada Cutlery. Rada
has been in business for 60 years and
offers a wide selection of fine cutlery—in gift sets or
individual pieces.
In addition, they
have soy wax candles,
gourmet food items, and much more. You
can come by the Shelter during business hours to take a look at their catalog
and place an order. We’ll
also be selling Rada Cutlery at our garage sales.
Special Needs Kitties
We
have several special needs kitties at the Shelter who have been waiting
to be adopted for a very long time. These
kitties need a patient, loving person and a quiet home with no children
and no other pets. As
with all our adoptees, they are strictly indoor pets.
Here
are a few…
Callie—A
beautiful, long-haired pale calico (white/black/gold) who was dumped
outside our Shelter door. She’s 3 years old and has
been with us for nearly a year. She’s affectionate
and playful and enjoys attention, but she does not like to be picked
up. Look for her picture on the “Cats for
Adoption” page.
Blanche
and Dorothy
- Two sisters about six months
old with impaired vision due
to untreated conjunctivitus
when they were little.
They are both very
pretty; Blanche is a
tabby/calico and Dorothyis
a Siamese mix.
They are so sweet
but timid. One
of Blanche’s eyes is cloudy and the other
has some scar tissue;
Dorothy has only
one
eye.
However, these
kitties require no special care. They have
no problems getting around once
they get used to
their environment and can see well enough
to chase
balls, toys, and bugs and have
no difficulty
finding their food, water, or litter
box.
It’s
more
difficult
for Dorothy and Blanche to
adapt to changes in
their environment, so these precious cats
need a quiet,
stable home, strictly indoors,
with no other animals
or small kids. These
two sisters have never been
separated and truly love each
other.
They must
be
adopted
together. Blanche
and Dorothy are
just waiting
for someone with a great big
heart
to give them a permanent home. Won’t
you please be
that special someone?
Alvin
– An adorable
orange tabby Munchkin mix about a year old. He’s
extremely sweet but very
shy.
He’s
extra cute with his short little
Munchkin legs.
He needs a
patient,
loving person and a quiet home with no children and no other pets. As
with all our cats, he is strictly an
indoor pet.
Do you have room
in your
home and heart for Alvin?
Great
news!
Two of our
previously-featured special needs
kitties, Penelope and Mittens, have been adopted! Many thanks to the
wonderful
people who adopted each of them.
.
Won’t
you please try and help us find a home for these very special kitties?
